What Can I Do to Help?

UB Believers is a new, broad-based advocacy group comprised of community members who recognize the positive impact of the University on the Buffalo Niagara region, and who are dedicated to raising awareness of its value among elected officials and policy makers. Members include representatives from key constituencies ranging from individuals, community leaders and alumni to parents and students to members of UB’s faculty and staff.

Join

Membership in UB Believers is open to all who believe in UB’s vision for the future of Western New York. As a UB Believer, you will receive regular email updates from the university about its work and contributions to our community, plans for growth and related legislative issues.

Advocate

In October, you will receive information about how to advocate on specific legislative and budgetary issues important to UB. Using the UB Believers site, you can send an email or letter to members of the New York State Legislature and to Governor Spitzer, expressing your support for UB legislative and budget priorities. With your help we can send a strong message that cannot be ignored by our elected officials, that supporting UB supports a better economic future and quality of life for the Buffalo Niagara region.

Recruit

Members are also encouraged to invite others to join their voices to this important campaign. This Web site is designed to make it easy for you to not only learn about the issues at hand but also to share them with your friends, family and coworkers. Working together we can play a key role in building the future of the University at Buffalo, and that of Western New York.
